Winsford Charity Wins Multiple Awards


Changing Lives in Cheshire, a social enterprise and charity based organisation situated on Winsford Industrial Estate, are celebrating after being awarded a whole host of honours and awards for the quality of their training.

Changing Lives in CheshireThe award ceremony, run by Cheshire West and Chester Council’s adult learning department, saw the Winsford based charity walk away with four separate honours.

Alan Cox was awarded with both the ‘Outstanding Tutor‘ and ‘Tutor of the Year 2014‘ awards, whilst Nathaniel Strawson earned himself a Silver Award for ‘Distance Travelled‘, which recognises the leaning progression made by individuals. Changing Lives in Cheshire also scooped the ‘Provider of the Year 2014‘ award, which comes on top of the ‘Gold Standard Approved Provider‘ recognition they had already been given during the year.

Changing Lives in Cheshire offers both accredited and non-accredited training covering a range of key skills and topics, including preparation for work and work experience training in the warehousing industry. The charity also offers trainees the chance to learn new skills by renovating unwanted furniture and electrical items which are then sold on at a discounted price to those in need.

Away from the awards, the charity were also winners of the ‘Social Enterprise North West Environmental Excellence Award 2014‘, and after a recent audit have received Gold in the ‘Fair Train Work Experience Quality Standard‘, a new initiative recently introduced in the last 12 months.
