MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS APPRENTICE x10
Location: Road One
Salary: £17,692 increasing to £21,231, on qualification
Hours: Shift based rota, working two days, two nights, 7am-7pm, 7pm-7am, followed by four rest days. There is an obligation to work a minimum of 6 flexible shifts, within a 12 month period, payment for which is built into the annual salary

Who are Coveris? Well, ‘You will find us in your fridge!!’ We specialise in the design & manufacture of innovative food packaging solutions e.g. cardboard packaging, label packaging & film packaging. At the Winsford site we manufacture film on the reel packaging for a wide variety of industries.
Following successful Apprenticeships in our Engineering department we are pleased to announce our plans to recruit 10 Apprentices in the Blown Film department. This is a huge commitment for the site & we hope it will elevate our status as an Employer of Choice within the local area & assist with succession planning & retention within the Blown department.
The Apprenticeship covers a 12-14 month training period during which the Apprentice will broadly, but not exclusively: –
Work to gain a QCF/NVQ Level 2 nationally recognised qualification through following Operational Modules within the Apprenticeship framework
Complete a minimum of 20% of off the job training
Experience the full range of blown film extruders, to consistently & efficiently process blown film products
Have real accountability & ownership through periods of machine minding, under the direction of an experienced Operator
Carry out their duties to meet all health, safety & hygiene standards together with behavioural standards in line with the sites Objectives & Values

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL
Be a minimum of 18 years of age
Have a good grasp of Maths & spoken & written English, at a minimum level of GCSE or equivalent
Ideally, but not essentially, have worked in a manufacturing environment/have had previous work experience as part of a team
Demonstrate a hunger to learn, complete studies & be ambitious to forge a career in Manufacturing

Following processing instructions and operating a variety of processing equipment to manufacture and pack powder products into boxes and sacks. Training will be given.
There is a substantial amount of manual lifting required.
Operators have the ability to work alone and to targets with little supervision
Some engineering skills required to take machines apart to clean but not essential as training will be given.
A flexible and committed individual with good communication skills is required.
Working a rotating Shift System 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm & 10pm – 6am
Position is permanent following a successful 3 month probationary period.

We are currently recruiting for Extrusion Operators within our Blown Film Manufacturing Unit.
The role involves the operation of high speed, high volume production lines to manufacture polythene film within tight customer specifications.
Candidates will ideally have a background in manufacturing, and experience of shift working, together with a commitment to team working and to producing a high-quality product.
The role is shift based, working two days and two nights, 7am-7pm & 7pm-7am, followed by four rest days (an average of 42 hours per week). Salary is £22,620 per annum. There are also opportunities for those who have the potential to progress, to earn up to £27,594.35 per annum, through the development of skills and experience.
