Winsford Industrial Estate now has a number of new sheltered bus stop facilities across the estate, which are aimed at encourging more staff to use the local bus service. In 2006, more than 14,000 bus journeys were made from the estate.
The bus stops have been funded by money from Cheshire County Council, however the Winsford 1-5 Business Environment Group and estate manager Mike Kelly have been lobbying the Council to get these types of facilities installed for a number of year. Mike Kelly, Estate Manager commented 'Through working in partnership with Cheshire County Council, we now have a much improved provision of bus shelters, which are not only providing shelter for employees seeking to use public transport, but have further enhanced the image of the estate as a place to invest and do business.'
